Mary Edith Lewis left her earthly body to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 8:50a.m. while in Saint Francis Hospital. She was born October 1, 1959 to James and Mary Lewis.

Her parents James and Mary preceded her in death along with three brothers Clarence, Tom, and Tommy Lewis and her grand parents.

Mary attended Amelia County Public Schools.

Mary was a kind hearted soft spoken person who loved her family, especially her devoted niece Jelissa Lewis. She did baby sitting and worked at Amelia County public schools in the cafeteria until her health begin to fail her.

She leaves to mourn: her loving sister Rosa Lewis; her brothers John Frank Woodley (Cynthia) of Richmond, Virginia, Robert Lewis of Blackstone, Virginia, Richard and Aubrey Lewis of Amelia, Virginia; two nieces, Carina of Texas, and  Jelissa Lewis whom she loved dearly; one nephew John L. Woodley; two aunts Yvonne Bates of Church Road, Virginia and Francina Morris of Petersburg, Virginia; and a host of cousins, family and friends which includes Roberta Pregram, Betty Wilkerson and Rosa Baker.
