The spirit of Ruby E. Nelson departed her body on September 9, 2024 at McLeod Hospital In Florence, SC
Ruby E. Nelson was born in Bronx, New York on December 12, 1949 to Edith Nelson. She attended Mullins schools where she graduated with the Class of 1968.
She united with the Six Mount Zion Baptist Church, Mullins, SC under the leadership of Reverend Thurman Gerald.
Ruby always affectionaly cared for others. She worked at Sara Lee for approximately 29 years. After leaving Sara Lee, Ruby then worked at the Mullins Nursing Center for several years as a CNA. After retiring from Mullins Nursing Center, she loved and cared for patients independantly in thier homes.
Ruby was preceded in death by her mother Edith Nelson, her sister, Madalene Nelson Page, and daughter-in -law, Kris Ford-Nelson. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her son, Anthony Nelson of Mullins, SC, her daughter, Latrish Dayes of Sicklerville, NJ; four grandchildren, Olivia Howard of Florence, SC, Kianna Smith, San Juan Smith, III, Marsha Smith of Sickleville, NJ, one great-grandson, Trayvon Smith-Gordon, Sickleville NJ, two great- granddaughters, Meliha and Mariah Howard of Florence, SC, One neice, Stacey Page of Dillon, SC, one nephew, Patrick Page of the home, a host of great neices, nephews, cousins and friends.
Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
