Wilma (Stickels) McCurdy, 83, of Royalton, passed away at 7:48 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024, surrounded by her family, at Parkway Manor in Marion.

Wilma was born on November 16, 1940, in Royalton to William Clark Stickels and Lucille (Shuping) Green. She was united in marriage to Carlos Dale McCurdy. They shared 63 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on September 23, 2020.

Wilma was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a wonderful mom and maw-maw. She loved to crochet and garden. You could always find something on her crochet hook and something blooming in her flower garden. Later in life, she enjoyed reading, working puzzles and playing solitaire on her tablet.

Wilma is survived by her children, Jerry McCurdy of Royalton, Lisa McCurdy and son-in-law, Bob VanDerhoff of Escondido, CA, Mark McCurdy and daughter-in-law, Penny of Royalton; grandchildren, Lauren Koons, Kaylee McCurdy Hahn and Brandon Hanh all of Royalton; great-granddaughter, Waylynn Renae. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband and parents; siblings, Neola Wood and Bill Swain; nephew, William Swain.

Graveside interment will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Miners Cemetery in Royalton. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery prior to the service.
