Marilyn A Manes passed away on the morning of Monday, September 9th 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Mar, as she was affectionately known, was born in Newark on March 8th, 1954 to Fay and Jerry Talbert. Marilyn was a beloved member of the community and was known all over town for her bright personality. No matter where she went, someone knew her and she was a shining star to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Mar spent her time doing what she loved- being a caregiver, going to Atlantic City, shopping at Marshall’s, going to Dunkin Donuts, spending time with her family and baking with her grandkids. Her larger than life presence will surely be missed.

Marilyn was predeceased by her mother, Fay Talbert of Colonia. Those left to cherish her memory include her high school sweetheart and husband of 47 beautiful years, Mark, her son Jason Manes, her daughter Nicole Vallejo and her husband Juan, her father Jerry Talbert, her sister Rosalie Richman and her husband Drew, her brother Alan Talbert, her brother in law Carl Manes, and her three most precious gifts, her granddaughters—Mila Vallejo, Mackenzie Manes, and Viviana Vallejo and many loving friends.

The viewing will be held on Friday, September 13th at Gosselin Funeral Home, 660 New Dover Road Edison, NJ from 4pm to 8pm. A short blessing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 14th at 11am immediately followed by the burial service at St Gertrude’s Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue Colonia, NJ.
