Billy Lee Tibbs Obituary

Billy Lee Tibbs, 84, of Colcord, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 9th, 2024, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, AR. He was born in Siloam Springs, AR, the son of Clarence F. and Mary A. (Whitaker) Tibbs.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and great granddaughter, Sofia Koester. He is survived by his wife, Tammy (Collier) Tibbs pf the home; son, Billy Wayne (Pam) Tibbs of Wylie Texas; daughters, Debra Lynn (Kenneth)Pitsenbarger of Plano, TX and Terri Denise Culwell of Siloam Springs, AR; son, Joe (Crystal) Collier of Siloam Springs, AR; grandchildren, Billy Tibbs II, James Tibbs, Jennifer Koester, Kevin Pitsenbarger, Matthew Pitsenbarger, Angela Yount, Lisa Mc Junkin, Keelan Collier and Gunner Collier; ten great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters; two sisters, Margaret Tyler of Colbert, OK and Belva (Frank) Lee of Siloam Springs, AR. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.


Bill attended Duckworth and Jay Bird schools in Siloam Springs. He graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1957. At age 17, he joined the Arkansas National Guard and was deployed to Little Rock Central High School during the de-segregation procedure of The Little Rock 9. He retired from the 2/142 FA-'B' Battery ARNG-Army as a 1st Sgt after serving his country for 24 years. Bill worked as a service manager for several dealerships retiring from Industrial maintenance at Simmon's. He and his wife moved to a small ranch just outside of Colcord, OK. They rescued horses, dogs and cats, giving them a loving and safe home. Bill enjoyed working around the ranch and tending to his beloved animals. He loved visiting with friends and spending time with his family. He lived his life according to the Christian Faith.
