Mitchell S. Niklewicz, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2024. Beloved and cherished husband of Sandra S. Niklewicz, nee Lapka. Loving dad of the late John (Paula) and the late David (Tammy). Very proud grandpa (Tampa) to Emily (Brendan), Julia, and Hannah. Dearest brother to his twin, the late Edward, and sisters Lorraine Wilkens, Barbara (Larry) Heinrich and brother-in-law to Carol and Jim Kelly. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Irene, nee Gostkiewicz, and his parents in law, Matt and Florence Lapka. Mitchell was a proud officer of the Chicago Police Department's 018 District and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War. MItch will be remembered for his love of family, watching his three granddaughters grow up, his huge nutcracker collection, the "gift of gab" and being a true friend. So many hearts will be saddened by the loss of this great guy. Thanks for the love over many years. Please omit flowers.
