Edward Patrick Smith, “Pat” 64, of Mechanicsville, MD, formerly of Bowie, MD, passed away on September 5, 2024, in Hollywood, MD. Born on March 15, 1960, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Donna (Moore) Smith and the late Eddie Mack Smith. Pat was the loving husband of Robyn (Klages) Smith, whom he married on October 2, 1982, in Kent Island Methodist Church, Chester, MD. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Smith, of Quimby, VA, his siblings, Cathleen Calixto of Crofton, MD, Colleen Neutzling of Crofton, MD, Matthew Smith of Brooklyn, MD, and Thomas Smith of Quimby, VA, his grandson, Riley Smith, of Loveville, MD, his father-in-law, Russell Klages, of Easton, MD, his brothers-in-law, David Klages of Pottsboro, TX and Glenn Klages OF Easton, MD, numerous nieces and nephews, and his faithful pocket beagle, Polly. Pat was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Albertson and Peggy Smith, and his niece, Kathryn Wilson.

Pat attended R.O.T.C at Laurel High School and went on to take Electronics Engineering Technology courses at Anne Arundel Community College. He owned Mobile Radio Services, LLC for 7 years, and was a Field Communication Supervisor for SMECO for 13 years.

Pat enjoyed muscle cars, car shows, and bluegrass music.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Marie Hankinson officiating. Interment will be private.
