Mary Ellen Briscoe, 91, of Greeley, passed away on September 5, 2024 in Greeley, Colorado surrounded by loved ones. She was born on November 26, 1932 in Bridgeport, Oklahoma to Edward and Ellen (Barney) Carpenter.

She grew up and attended grade school in Bridgeport, Oklahoma. After attending high school in Hinton, Oklahoma, she attended Oklahoma State University and was a lifetime member of Delta Zeta. Education was a very big part of Mary’s life, after receiving her bachelor’s, she went on and completed her master’s in education. She taught in Christian schools and public schools.

She met and later married the love of her life, James Briscoe on May 29, 1954 in Oklahoma, they were married for 67 years before his passing in 2021.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her husband, gardening and taking road trip to visit family. She loved her Lord and Savior and her church family. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her and loved her.

Mary Ellen is survived by her children, David (Patty) Briscoe, Stephen Briscoe, Jama Briscoe and; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Blackerby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Briscoe; Daughter, Dana Briscoe-Cacioppo (Kevin Cacioppo); her great grandson, Croix Briscoe; her father and mother; siblings, Leonard and Robert Carpenter.
