Bertha (Petersheim) Green, 76, of Oakland, MD, died Thursday, September 5, 2024, at her residence.

Born October 4, 1947, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Anna (Miller) Petersheim. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winston Arden Green.

Mrs. Green was a bus contractor with Garrett Transportation Services. She was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God and Garrett Co. Bus Contractor’s Association.

Bertha was loved by so many people and her smile would draw you in. Through her years she provided a safe place for people, whether it was the “little ones” on the school bus, the people she drove on the Garrett Transit Van, or a stranger she met at WalMart. She would introduce herself humorously as “I’m Bertha Green from Oakland, MD.” Even in her worse moments she would try to have a smile.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Tracie) Green and Kenny Green; one daughter, Krissy Green; two brothers, Perry Petersheim and Melvin Petersheim; three sisters, Carrie Coffman, Cora Cates and Mary Schauffner; six grandchildren, Gunnar Ward, Kelby (Lexi) Green, Dustin Green, Andie Ward, Delaney Green and Kamdyn Green; one great-grandson, Sammy “Bub” Williams; many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Loch Lynn Church of God at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ivan Ackerman and Pastor Cindy Ackerman officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
