Meredith Ann Sweat

August 7, 1948-September 1, 2024

Meredith Ann Sweat, age 76, wife of Marvin Sweat, of North Charleston, passed away Sunday.

September 1, 2024, at her home. Ann left behind all of her ailments and was given ultimate

freedom to fly high to her forever home with the Lord.

Born in Anderson, SC on August 7, 1948, she along with her only brother JB Fortner Jr (Gale

Fortner) were the only children of the late JB Fortner Sr, and the late Meredith Elizabeth Jordan

who she thought about often.

Ann loved her family deeply and knew she was loved by many. She was a mother to so many.

She used to say that Grandma meant Grandest Mother. She was feisty, smart and beautiful. No

one ever believed the age she was. She enjoyed her talks, texts and time together with her loved

ones. She had a love for hair, makeup, nails, proms, pageants and all things beautiful. She was a

blessing in so many lives for a very long time and her teachings and wisdom will be cherished by

all who loved her.

Ann is survived by her husband Marvin Sweat, children Tracy Seamon, Robert Farkas, and his

fiancé Denise Scanniello, and James Farkas, and his wife Kari Farkas, along with her

grandchildren Daniel Peets, Amber Gray, Jonathon Farkas, Dustin Montgomery-Barbaree, Kayla

Farkas, Tyler Farkas, and Chase Farkas, along with her great grandchildren Savannah Wood,

Abigail Peets, Daulton Conover, Charlotte Peets, Brennan Smith and Yara Speed.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, September 9, 2024, in The Tribute Room of The Standard Cremation & Funeral Center, 1621 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, S.C. 29625. Burial will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson.

The family will receive friends, at The Standard, prior to the service, from 12:30pm – 2:00pm.
