Ann Barbara Walker Obituary

Ann Barbara Walker, age 84, resident of Sayville died on September 5, 2024.

Ann grew up in Woodhaven, New York. She then earned a bachelors degree from Alfred University and went on to teach English at Central Islip and Islip high schools.

Ann was a proud member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a sorority for women educators. She was also heavily involved at Sayville Congregational Church and enjoyed participating in prayer shawl group.

Ann is survived by her sisters Cornelia Gevinski (Bernard) and Roberta Keis, her nieces and nephews Ann and Barbara Keis, Robert Gevinski, Christianna Van deWettering, and Patricia Messina, and great-grand nieces and nephews Jacob Van de Wettering, Christian Van de Wettering, and  Braeden and Madison Messina.

Ann’s family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 8th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Raynor & D’Andrea Funeral Home 245 Montauk Highway, West Sayville. A chapel service will be held at 3 p.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn will follow on Monday.
