Frank C. Corsillo Obituary

Frank C. Corsillo September 1, 1925 – September 5, 2024

Frank Corsillo, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and distinguished public servant, passed away peacefully at the age of 99. Born in the Bronx, NY, on September 1, 1925, Frank lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community. To say he lived a fulfilled life would be an understatement.

Frank proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps. Stationed in Burma, he miraculously survived a plane crash in the jungle, an experience that exemplified his resilience and courage. After the war, Frank dedicated his life to serving the people of New York City through a remarkable career with the NYPD. Rising to the rank of Assistant Chief, he served as the commanding officer of the NYPD Internal Affairs Division where his integrity and commitment to justice earned him the respect of his colleagues and the community alike. He earned a BA from Fordham University graduating with honors.

Beyond his professional achievements Frank was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in golf, hunting, skiing, fishing, and boating. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for his family. He took great pride in engaging with each of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making time to celebrate their accomplishments, whether on the field, in their careers, or in their studies. Frank lived for the past 4 years at the Residence of Stafford, a senior assisted living facility in Manahawkin NJ. He was an active member of the community happily participating in social activities and lending his support to local initiatives. His presence brought warmth and kindness to those around him, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Frank is predeceased by his wife Eileen and his daughter Veronica. He is survived by his brother Bob (Ann), his three sons Charles (Margarite), Frank (Patti), and William (Erika), his nine grandchildren Thomas, Danielle, Michael, Mark, Alexandra, Christopher, Philip, Meagan and Alexander, and nine great-grandchildren Colton, Nicholas, Anthony, Kiara, Jonathan, Austin, William, Angelo and Miles. In honor of Frank's memory, his family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude’s or Memorial Sloan Kettering.

Viewing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 from 2:00-6:00pm with a service at 5:00pm and Military Honors at 5:30pm at Mastapeter Memorial Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville, NJ 08721.  Funeral service will be private with the immediate family at St. Raymond New Cemetery in Bronx, NY.
