Francisco I. Montalvo, affectionally known as “Pachico" a beloved family man and respected community member, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on May 21, 1940, in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the cherished son of the late Franciso Montalvo and Dominga Irizarry. Pachico's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his loved ones and his passion for life.

Pachico was a devoted husband to his wife, Luzaida Montalvo, and a loving father to his children, Francisco Montalvo, Jr., Edwin Montalvo, Miguel Montalvo, and his only daughter, Melissa (Leroy) Kelley. He took immense pride in his family and found great joy in the accomplishments and milestones of his grandchildren, LeRoy Kelley, Jr., Leekel Kelley, KelRoy Kelley, Essence Kelley, Miguel Montalvo, Jr., Angelia Montalvo and the many other grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a source of light and happiness in his life.

He was deeply loved and will be missed by a host of other relatives and friends whose lives he touched with his generosity and vibrant spirit.

Pachico's work ethic was unparalleled, and he held various positions throughout his life that showcased his diverse skills and commitment to serving others. He worked in the customer service department at Minute Man Press, contributed to the education of children in the Hartford School System (HART), maintained the sacred grounds at Cedar Hill Cemetery, served customers with a smile at Aurthur Drug Store and was employed at Colt’s Fire Arm. His colleagues and those he served will remember him for his reliability and the care he put into every task.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Pachico was a man of many interests. He loved working with his hands, whether it was tending to his garden, where he grew an array of vegetables to share with relatives or engaging in his favorite pastimes. Music and dance were sources of great enjoyment for Pachico; his rhythm and enthusiasm were contagious to all who had the pleasure of joining him on the dance floor.

An avid gambler, Pachico enjoyed the thrill of the game, whether it was at Foxwoods or reminiscing about the days spent at Jai-Alai. He was also a skilled domino player, a hobby that not only showcased his strategic mind but also provided countless hours of camaraderie and laughter with friends and family.
