Mrs. Hazel Jean Owens, age 82 of Barbourville, KY departed this life on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Barbourville Nursing Home.  She was born March 31, 1942, in Knox County KY, to the late Tom and Frankie Peavley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Glen Dale Owens, brothers and sisters, Bob, Lilly, Tommy, and Gary. Hazel was a member of East Barbourville Baptist Church. She worked for many years in the family business at Owens Furniture and Parkway Monument.

      Left behind to mourn her passing her sons, Mike Owens and wife Sheri of Gray, Kentucky and Todd Owens and wife Renia of Gray, Kentucky, grandchildren, Hunter Owens, Shaw Owens and wife Michaela, Corey Owens, Logan Owens, and Jenna Owens all of Gray, Kentucky, great grandchildren, Parker Elizabeth, and Rory Grace, brother and sisters, Maxine, Jimmy,  Marjorie, Barbara, and  Bonnie. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

      Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Owens will be conducted at Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday September 8, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Josh Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. She will be laid to rest in Hutchinson Cemetery at Gray, Kentucky.

      Friends and family may call at Hampton Funeral Home on Sunday September 8, 2024, from 12(noon)- 2p.m.

Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

     In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
