Julia “Judy” Buck, 82, of Jacksonville, passed away early Thursday morning, September 5, 2024, at Boyd Hospital in Carrollton.

She was born August 11, 1942, in Jacksonville, the daughter of James and Julia Robertine (Gerdes) Carrigan. She married Harry Edward Buck Jr. on July 27, 1963, in Jacksonville, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2023.

She is survived by one daughter, Teri (Melvin) Dambacher; five grandchildren, Baylyn (Billy) McFadden, Lauren Dambacher, Dylan Dambacher, Zach Buck (fiancé Kelly) and Travis (Charmaine) Buck; five great grandchildren, Petyon, Billy, Austyn, Caiden and Nova; her daughter-in-law, Karen Buck; her son-in-law, Derrick Vetter; one brother, Michael (Joan) Carrigan; one sister, Joan (Danny) Willard; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Harry E. Buck, III and Mary Beth Vetter; one brother, James Carrigan (surviving wife, Mary); and one sister, Juanita Schmitz.

Judy’s most important job was being a homemaker and raising her family. She also co-owned and operated Harry’s Pharmacy in Auburn with her husband for twelve years. She was a member of Church of Our Saviour and the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed golfing, sewing, working puzzles and playing cards. She especially loved spending time with her family. Judy touched many hearts with her listening ear, her helping hand, and an open door.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Church of Our Saviour in Jacksonville, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday at the Williamson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. Memorials are suggested to Jacksonville Food Center or Our Saviour School.
