Jo Ellen Pew Peterson passed away peacefully in her home on August 30, 2024.
Jo Ellen (Jody) was born April 29th, 1955, to Walter Clayton Pew and June Rose McCarty Pew in Phoenix, Arizona. Jody was the youngest of three children. Her older siblings were Walter Mark Pew and Mary Caroline Pew Adams (Trent). She grew up in Show Low, Arizona, and cherished the cousins and close friendships she had there. Jody prioritized relationships with her family.
Jody attended Snowflake High School and graduated in 1973. She loved her classmates and was highly involved in choir and cheerleading. It is there she met Quince Reese Peterson, whom she would marry on July 15th, 1976, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. They raised their five children in Snowflake.
Jody had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and strove to serve God's children in all that she did. She served in many church callings, including Relief Society President, Cub Scouts, Temple Worker, and most recently as a Primary Teacher. She sang for many years with the Liberty Belles and worked tirelessly on family history and genealogy. She enjoyed planting and gardening, and truly loved improving the landscape with trees and flowers. Jody earned her bachelor's degree, worked in Snowflake Schools, and helped establish George Washington Academy in Snowflake. She loved the children she taught. The most important thing to Jody was her family and her grandchildren, always attending and supporting their music and sporting activities. 
Jo Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother, Mark. She is survived by her husband, Quince Reese Peterson, and their children; David Reese Peterson (Valerie), Anna Peterson Stailey (Carl), Benjamin Olaf Peterson (Amy), Eva Peterson Tenney (Mathan), Andrew Amos Peterson, and her twenty wonderful grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
 Her family invites you to attend a viewing Saturday, Sept 7th from 9:00 -10:30 am, with the funeral starting at 11:00 am in the Mainstreet Chapel in Snowflake, AZ.
