Lavilla D. Schilling, age 97, of Colby, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran in Riplinger. The Rev Jeff Siegel will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church. 

Lavilla was born on November 13, 1926, the daughter of Walter and Erna (Ehmke) Neitzel in Marshfield. She graduated from Colby High School. On September 15, 1948, Lavilla was united in marriage to Clarence Schilling at Peace Lutheran Church in the Town of Frankfort. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Lavilla and Clarence farmed in the Town of Colby and Hull for 50 years. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Lavilla especially loved and cherished her family.

Lavilla is survived by her three children: Ken (Rosie) Schilling of Edgar, Jerry (Coral) Schilling of Fond du Lac and Bonnie (Ron) Schmitt of Colby; seven grandchildren: Jason (Becky) Schilling, Brian (Leslie) Schilling, Shelly (Don) Demers, Kristi (Luke) Zarins, Katie (Travis) Severson, Ashley (Shaun) Burlingame and Marissa Schmitt; 20 great-grandchildren: Drew, Aidan, Aubrey, CC, Rylee, Jacob, Ben, Anna, Alexander, Abigail, Trinity, Talon, Zane, Isabelle, Justice, Avley, Aleah, Caden, Desarae and Jazalin; and one great-great-granddaughter, Amelia. She is further survived by her sister, Lois Gehrke of Colby; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence and her sister, Betty Soltow.
