Beloved mother, sister and wife
Cindy L Sanchez, age 67 of Highland, IN passed away Friday, August 30, 2024. Cindy was born in Hammond, Indiana on September 10, 1956. She is survived by husband Ricardo Sanchez; 5 children: 2 sons, Daniel Jr. (Dahlia) Gonzalez and Dustin (Adriana) Gonzalez; 3 daughters, Mandy (Charles) Green, Sara Sanchez, and Katie Sanchez; 13 grandchildren: Daniel III, Alexis, Janae, Ryan, Bela, Alva Jr, Desi, Olivia, Faith, Sariah, Charleigh, Leona, and Nova; 2 sisters, Terie Saksa, Trudy (Bill) Myers; special niece Christi (Felipe) Vega, several other nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Saksa and Mary Saksa; 1st husband, Daniel Gonzalez; nephew Tony Perez, special sisters-in-law Chela Fernandez and Ana Sanchez, special bother-in-law Thomas Homco, mother-in-law Raquel Castillo, mother-in-law Maria Sanchez and father-in-law Fransico Sanchez, and several other loved ones.
Cindy cherished her family and especially adored spending time with her grandchildren. As a Purdue University graduate, she was a dedicated teacher for several years, once retired she established her own handcrafted business, Forever in Blue Jeans & more. She loved to craft and create her own unique items using recycled or as she loved to say ‘upcycled’ materials to be a good steward of the planet. Cindy was a devout Christian, a member and dedicated servant of Freedom Church and the community. She utilized her God given gifts and talents to teach others of the Lord’s unwavering love. There are not enough words to describe how much she will be missed by her family and friends.
Following cremation, Cindy’s Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 06, 2024; visitation from 5pm - 7pm CST, Celebration service to begin at 7pm CST at Freedom Church 4801 Olcott Ave., (corner of Olcott Ave. and W 148th Street), East Chicago, IN 46312, with Pastor Danny Garza officiating.
Cindy’s Final Farewell Service will be held at Freedom Church on Saturday, September 07, 2024 from 1pm – 2pm CST with luncheon to follow.
