Sylvia M. Fields, nee Howington, of Jackson, died peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024 at her home at the age of 97 years. She was born August 23, 1927 in Dallas, TX to the late Watt and Cordie (nee Vaughn) Howington.

As a child, she lived in Dallas, attending local schools. She met the love of her life, Leonard Fields, as he was serving in the United States Army. They were married on August 26, 1944 in Dallas. A few years later, the moved to Wisconsin, settling in the Milwaukee area. Leonard predeceased December 9, 1998.

Sylvia was small in stature, but large in personality. Her love of life and her deep faith were the foundations of everything she did. She made life an adventure for her family, friends and all who knew her.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy Robinson of Jackson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 daughters Patrice, Jeanne Dailey and Terri Leiner, 1 son Timothy, 3 granddaughters Beth, Jill and Margo and 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

A gathering for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 17 with a memorial service at 1 p.m. with a reception to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jackson.
