Helen (McGuigan) Pedit passed away on August 30, 2024, at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, Michigan, with her loving husband, Arden, at her side. Born in Airdrie, Scotland, on November 9, 1947, Helen immigrated to the US with her parents, John C. and Mary (Whiskers) McGuigan and her brother, Robert (Bobby).

Helen was an apartment manager for 32 years in the Detroit area as well as Bay City. She was also a real estate agent. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish - St. Vincent de Paul Church.

Helen crafted many beautiful knitted and crocheted items for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed making blankets, sweaters and other things for babies and young children. Another favorite hobby was birdwatching, which she shared with her husband. She also enjoyed long rides with Arden and their dog, Polly, looking for deer and turkeys, and trips to the U.P to visit Arden’s family.

Family was important to Helen, and she spent time with her brother, Bobby, his wife, Vickie, and their daughter, Chrissy. She had several nieces and nephews, as well as her many “adopted” grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her husband, Arden Curtis Pedit, whom she married on July 25, 1969, her brother, Robert (Vickie) McGuigan and niece, Chrissy. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews, including great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held 12 noon on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish – St. Vincent de Paul Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins. A light luncheon will be served following the service.

The church is located at the corner of North Union Road and 2 Mile Road, Bay City, Michigan.
