James (Jim) Thomas Melton III
August 17, 1954 ~ August 30, 2024
Jim passed away doing what he loved, fishing. Born and raised in Yuma, Jim was the oldest son of James Thomas Melton II and Pilar Melton.
Jim spent 4 years serving in the US Army. He returned to Yuma to work Construction and later moved to California to work with his brother Ray. Jim was known for his love of hunting and fishing. Everyone he met became a new friend to him. He was always so eager to help anyone that needed it. He could turn a bad situation into a memorable one. He would talk about it later and make it a humorous story.
Jim is preceded in death by his daughter Sarah (Shorty) Melton. He is survived by his brother Ray Melton sisters Mae Hernando, Linda Melton-Mondejar, Sam Melton-Calzada and Lisa Melton, his children Patricia Melton, Christopher Melton, James Thomas Melton IV and his grandchildren Bishope, Amaya, Brooklyn, James Thomas V, Lanie Melanie, Kirra and Dyla.
Jim, you will always be in our heart and greatly missed.
