Alan Neal "Bud", "Uncle Al" Carter Jr., age 41 of Defiance, passed away on Friday evening, August 30, 2024 in Defiance, Ohio.  
  
He was born on September 21, 1982 to Alan N. and Stacia (Bittner) Carter Sr. in Oregon, Ohio. Alan was a 1999 graduate of Woodmore High School, was a State Champion wrestler and was second in the nation. He earned his Associates Degree from the University of Toledo. On July 6, 2020 he married Mallory Sweinhagen, who survives. Alan worked at Z-Tech Charlie's Car Care for several years. He was a very talented drummer and  played drums for several local bands. He loved spending time with his wife and his sons. He will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends.
  
Alan is survived by his loving wife Mallory Carter of Defiance, his father, Alan N. (Mary Ann) Carter, Sr. of Elmore, OH, his mother, Stacia (David) Pigman of Holgate, OH, and his sons, Alan N. Carter III, Aden Carter and Anthony Carter, all of Elmore, OH, and Riley David Carter of Defiance. He also leaves behind his sister, Jane (Josh) Wolf of Elmore, OH, brother, John (Shy) Mirco of Bryan, OH, grandmothers, Brenda Carter of Williston, OH and Marilyn Little of Woodville, OH, and step-grandmother, Sharon Bittner of Genoa, OH. 
  
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Butch Carter and Darryl Bittner.
  
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. There will be no funeral service.
