Funeral services for Willis Powell, 87 year old Wyola, Montana resident who passed away August 30th at his home in Wyola will be held Saturday, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 686 Fort Street in Buffalo with Elder Don Helms officiating. Willis Alfred Powell was born on March 19, 1937 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Harry and Irene(Decker) Powell. He went to grade school at Pine Butte School in Eastern Montana. He went to high school in Sheridan and graduated from Sheridan High School with the class of 1955. After high school he went to work on the family ranch. He was married in April of 1955 to Roberta Ankeny and they made their home on the family ranch in Quietus, Montana. They later moved to Ranchester where he owned and operated a mechanic shop. In the early 1980’s they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where he started a janitorial service. He retired in 2010 and in 2021 they moved to Wyola to live with their daughter. They continued living in Wyola until his death.

He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation and enjoyed proselytizing spreading the word of God.

He is survived by his wife Roberta of Wyola; two sons, Terry Powell and his wife Bernadette of Buffalo and Ken Powell of Maple Valley, Washington; two daughters Jeanne Powell of Wyola, Montana and Kathy Schultz and her husband Jay of Hawaii; one sister Addie Goodwin of Montana; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Leslie Powell, one brother Lee Powell and one sister Alice Morris.
