Louis (Luigi G.) Sanelli 1927 to 2024. He was born November 10, 1927 in Abruzzo, Italy. In his youth he was a ski champion and had a lifelong love of the sport and skied well into his 60s.
During the war he with his father, Antonino Sanelli worked in the Italian underground. At wars end they were presented a certificate by the commanding General, Joseph T McNarney for the aid in assisting the war effort for the United States.
He immigrated to the United States after the war when he was 20 and settled in in Hartford, CT to be near the rest of his family. He later attended the University of Hartford where he attained his degree in Electrical Engineering.
He work at Roncari Industries in East Granby, CT serving as a vice president and safety engineer for over 30 years. Retiring at age 68.
He and his late wife, Audrey split their time between Old Lyme, CT and Oyster Creek in Englewood, FL. Spending 6 months in each location. On the beach in the summer (for Audrey) and the winter on the 9th pin (for him) A natural athlete he took up golf in his late 30s and became a scratch golfer.
He is survived by his children and his stepchildren. Daughters: Virginia Sanelli Yassin of CA, Louann and Charlie Dinolfo of FL, Mary Lou Sanelli and Larry Montgomery of WA and HI. Stepchildren: Meghan Mahan of CT and Randy and Jean Brousseau of CO. He leaves grandchildren, step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves a niece and nephew.
He will be missed by so many, but they all wish him to rest in peace. He has earned it.
