In Loving Memory

Linda M. (Piersall) Schwartz

February 27, 1948 - August 30, 2024

Linda M. (Piersall) Schwartz of Blossvale, NY; was taken by the angels to our Lord with open arms on August 30, 2024 with her loved ones by her side. She was predeceased just sixteen days prior by her amazing and loving husband, Fran, who was the love of her life and soul mate whom she cherished with her loving heart for nearly 59 years of marriage!

Linda loved her children with all her heart and soul. Her most precious times were spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. They had six loving and beloved children Wayne, Brian, David, Kevin, Carolyn, and Heidi.

In September 1962 she met her future husband Francis R. Schwartz, at Fey's Dance Hall in Taberg, NY. Linda and Francis were married by Msg. Seiter at St. Mary's Church, Rome, NY on October 9, 1965.

Linda was the eldest daughter of Harold W. & Josephine E. (Caswell) Piersall. Linda was a lifetime resident of Blossvale, born at home at the Harvale Dairy Farm (now known as the Bielby Farm) on February 27, 1948.

Linda attended kindergarten at the Taberg Methodist Church which had just been built. Then, she attended the one room school house on the corner of Mill St. and Blossvale Rd. for- three years after which she went to Annsville Elementary School until she was in sixth grade. Her family moved to the McConnellsville District where she attended 6th and 7th grade before going onto Camden High School. She had many interesting memories and stories about the one room schoolhouse and would often reflect upon those memories.

Linda loved her family and home. Her past times would be spent with hours and hours of cutting, sewing, and making many quilts. Linda also loved photography, scrapbooking, spent hours on her crafts, making wreaths, painting lawn ornaments, decorating for the holidays and decorating cakes. Also, she loved to travel with her family.

Linda worked at the August Creamery in Blossvale for about a year and half after getting married. Linda then took time off from working outside the house to work 24 hours a day raising and taking care of her family of six wonderful children that she loved dearly and devoted all her time to. After many years of "house duty" and "motherhood" Linda returned to the working career outside the home. She worked with her husband for several years where they cleaned the buildings on Germany Rd. at the Verona Test Site for the U.S. Government, working with different contractors. Linda then decided she wanted to become a Beautician, so she started, beautician school in Rome during the evenings. She completed about half of the course when she became ill and it was necessary for her to discontinue her schooling. Linda was diagnosed with Lupus along with other medical ailments.

Linda is survived by her children & their spouses, along with eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Sons Wayne & Sheri (Rauscher) and their children Christian and MeiLyn of North Bay; Brian & Kathleen (Rasmussen) and their son Brayden of Saranac Lake, David and Lori (Skinner) of Camden, Kevin and Rita (Harosia) of Taberg and grandson, Kevin Jr. of Taberg; Daughters Carolyn & John Ellinger and their daughters Amberlyn and Jake Gosier of Little Falls and Kaitlyn (Brandon Pugh) of Rome; and Heidi and Amedeo Libertella and their daughter Hannah of Blossvale and a granddaughter, Jasimine Schwartz (great grandchild Tom) of Camden.
