LaSandra Gail Sledge was born July 27, 1963, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the late Dorothy Lee and Thomas Sledge, Jr., both of whom preceded her in death. She departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2024, at her residence in Monroe, Louisiana.

Gail, as she was known by many, grew up on Thomas Street and Burg Jones Lane, and was outgoing, energetic, and just an all around fun person who cared about people and loved her family.
Sister Gail would later become a member of Greater Free Gift Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop Rodney McFarland, Sr., and was a faithful member, until her passing.

Sister Sledge was preceded in death by her daughter, RhuShunda Sledge; brother, Thomas Sledge III; and mother and father, Thomas and Dorothy Sledge.

LaSandra was the sixth of seven children. She was survived by: one son, Darrell Sledge (Carolyn); two sisters, Jacqueline Miles (Anthony) and Monica Elliott (Richard), both of Monroe, LA;
three brothers, Tyrone Miles (Cara) of Jacksonville, AR, Ricky McCarthy (Ilean), and Gerald Miles (April) of Monroe, LA; one grandson, Nicholas Sledge; a special friend, James Anding; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
