Affectionately known as Mark, he was a beacon of intelligence and spirited determination, always seeking to improve not just his own lot but that of his community. He was not only an accomplished businessman but also a farming pioneer in the city of Tarlac. With an unwavering work ethic and a profound connection to the land, Mark cultivated rice and a variety of vegetables with great success. His passion for agriculture extended to livestock, where he adeptly raised, bought, and sold pigs and chickens. Mark's skillful hands built both of his family homes from the ground up, creating a lasting legacy of shelter and love for generations to come.
The essence of Mark was best captured outside, under the sun, doing what he loved most. His life revolved around the cycles of planting and harvest, and he took immense joy in watching life sprout and flourish under his attentive care. Even as he aged, Mark's enthusiasm for agriculture never waned. He stayed as active as possible, taking great pleasure in sharing his knowledge and witnessing his young grandchildren grow, much like the crops in his fields.
Mark's family was the center of his world. Though preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laurence Fernando Casalamitao, he leaves behind an extensive and loving family, including his cherished children Leopoldo, Nestor, Zenaida, Emilia, Camillo, Adorita, Estrella, and Joel. His progeny extended through the branches of his family tree, with over 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom benefited from his wisdom and zest for life.
Known for his intelligence and wise perspective on life's myriad challenges, Mark was someone to whom many turned for advice. His spirit was indomitable, and his capacity to love and support his family was boundless. Those who knew him will remember Mark's stories, rich with experience and insight, which will continue to guide and inspire.
As we bid farewell to Mark Casalamitao, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life that sowed much more than crops, a life that cultivated wisdom, strength, and love. A service will be held on Saturday September 7th, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church 825 Klevin St, Anchorage, AK, 99508. He will be cremated on September 11th.
