Roger Dennis Williams, 88, of Middleport, passed away, at 5:05 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 in the Arbors at Pomeroy. Born May 30, 1937, he was the son of the late Carl H. and Willa Mae Ware Willams. He served his county in the US Air Force. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University. He was a retired music teacher for the Norwalk Catholic High School. He was a member and choir director of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Middleport, and he also served as the director of the Middleport community Band. He also worked as a dispatcher for the Middleport Police Department. He was and avid Buckeye’s and Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by a niece, Judith Lynn Miller, a cousin, Becky English, and a special friend, Donna Boyd.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn, and Dorothy Williams, a nephew, Michael Smith, a niece, Sharon Ann Miller, and cousins, Eileen Garnes, Nancy Little, Mary Margaret Walburg, and Patricia Kendrick.
Interment will be in the Middleport Hill Cemetery, at the convenience of the family. The Cremeen-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy is entrusted with the arrangements.
