On Friday, August 30, 2024, in Lakeside CA, Watchanee Jaiaree Lane, better known to her friends as “Koko”, passed away peacefully, with her loving husband Mike and brother-in-law Steve by her side.
She is survived by her husband Mike or “Mikey” as she called him, Mike’s family, countless friends, and her two kooky pet chickens Lucky and Puffy. In Thailand Koko is survived by her son “Boat” (nicknamed so because Koko gave birth to him in a boat on the way to the hospital), as well as her father, stepbrother, stepsisters, niece, and close Thai friends.
Koko was born on October 20, 1965 in Ratchaburi, Thailand. She loved celebrating her birthdays with friends and family, where she was a whirlwind in the kitchen, whipping up an abundant amount of delicious homemade Thai food for everyone to enjoy.
Koko created a successful Bookkeeping/Tax/Payroll business with many long-time dedicated clients who came for her business services, yet came away with much more in the way of her unique straight forward advice to any problem they might be facing at no additional charge; she always finished by asking if they were hungry.
Koko enjoyed socializing and playing Poker at the Sycuan Casino, where nearly everyone who works or plays there knew her, were tax clients or friends, oftentimes both. She loved visiting with her friends, then at tax season collecting their W-2s.
Koko liked “American football”, her teams were Kansas City, Green Bay, Denver and Dallas. She particularly liked the football pools, perhaps more than the games themselves.
Koko loved travelling, especially in her home country Thailand, exploring all corners with her husband over the past 30 years.
Koko’s family and friends will most remember her beaming smile, sense of humor, and delicious home cooked Thai food.
Koko was a Thai Buddhist, she lived her life on the principle of creating good karma in the world through her kindness, compassion and generosity. Her pure intention to help others will no doubt influence her rebirth into a much more favorable place.
Koko was a loving, warm and generous wife, caring mother, best friend, mentor, auntie, and businesswoman, her strength and spirit were truly remarkable, she always went out of her way to help family, friends, or complete strangers; it really did not matter who you were, you truly received a gift by knowing her.
A celebration of life party will be held in Koko’s honor at her Lakeside, CA home, date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Koko’s honor to the Thai Buddhist Temple in Escondido, American Cancer Society, or charitable non-profit organization of your choice.
