Juanita Pena Cavazos 88, entered into eternal rest on August 30, 2024, at her residence in Lyford, Texas. She was born on March 6, 1936, to Pedro and Conception Pena in Taft, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters, Yolanda C. Rodriguez, Silvia C. Sanchez, Noemi (Edgar) Hudson, Debbie A. Cavazos, Olga (Mike) Salazar and Elizabeth (Jose) Cantu, her sons, George Cavazos, Edward Cavazos, Ezequiel Cavazos Jr., Jose Cavazos, her brother, Ricardo Pena, her sister Petra Solis, 28 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Ezequiel P. Cavazos Sr., her son, Daniel Cavazos, her brothers, Dorotello Pena, Julian F. Pena, Theodoro Pena, Encarnasion Pena, Pedro Pena Jr. DeLeon and her sisters, Santos Morales and Lucia Luna.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Gregorio Rodriguez Jr., Carlos Telles Jr., Raymond Cavazos, Dante Salazar, Carlos E. Cavazos and James Mora.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford. Interment will follow to her final place of rest next to her loving husband at the Lyford Guadalupe Cemetery.
