Patricia Sue Lesak, 82, of Victoria, passed away on August 30, 2024 in Victoria TX, surrounded by family. Born October 6, 1941 in Victoria, Sue was the second of four children of the late Woodrow and Pauline “Pearl” Wagner.  Sue graduated from Nazareth Academy in Victoria.   After high school, she attended and graduated from The Renger Memorial Hospital School of Vocational Nursing in Hallettsville, in December 1960.   She completed her residency and obtained her license with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in July 1961.   Sue loved her role as a health care provider to the community and the ability to meet so many friends throughout her career.  Sue never met a stranger.  She actively practiced nursing for over 59 years, retiring in 2020.

Sue was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she had served on the Alter Society.   Over the years with the church, you would find her assisting in or heading up the plant booth at the annual church fair and volunteering to assist in other church endeavors as they came available.

Sue loved spending time with her friends and family most of all.  She took every chance she could get to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   When not with them, she would share pictures and stories of their time together, their current life situation and counting down the days until she would see them next.  She treasured the moments spent with her Canasta group playing cards, her family playing dominos, and the times she spent socializing over quilting with others.   Sue was an avid reader who was never without a book and a cookbook in her bag to read.  She was an avid supporter of the Victoria Public Library where she went weekly to find her next set of reading material.  Whenever she could, Sue baked cookies, cakes, pies and other desserts to share with anyone who came by.  She spent time teaching her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and neighbors how to make and decorate her infamous sugar cookies and banana pudding.   Along with her husband, Sue shared a passion for travel.   She loved to travel to the Hill Country, visit her family in Austin, group trips to Las Vegas, Louisiana and Biloxi and weekend get-away to Port O’Connor.  She was always ready to board a cruise ship when the opportunity arose and loved to share the memories of her life trip that she took to Italy and Germany along with the Holy Family Choir.

Patricia Sue is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, Raymond M. Lesak; Children: Darryl Lesak (Deborah) of Victoria, Scott Lesak (Pam) of Hallettsville, Stephen Lesak (Vanessa) of Victoria, and Donna Lesak Bures (Gregory) of Round Rock; Siblings: William and Ann Wagner, Ginger Wagner, and Kay Thigpen of Victoria; Grandchildren: Kyle Lesak (Alicia), Masen Lesak Schubert (Tanner), Dylan Bures (Erin), Reid Lesak and Evan Bures; Great Grandchildren Scott Lesak, Audrey Lesak and Riley Schubert.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Patrick Wagner and infant twin brother, Phillip Ronald Wagner.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 13, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Victoria.   A rosary will be said at 9:30 am followed directly by the funeral mass at 10:00am.   A reception will immediately follow the mass.
