Joyce Maxine Davidson Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our Mother, Joyce Maxine Davidson, at the age of 91. She died at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital of post-surgical complications after breaking her hip.

She is survived by her children, Cathy Purvis (Norm), Brent, Larry (Bonnie) and Ray (Tina), one brother-in-law, Hazen Carpenter, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Joyce was the second eldest of Hughie and Myrtle Hamilton and grew up in Canterbury, NB. She graduated in 1950 then attended Mount Allison University in pursuit of a career in business. She married Orlie in 1953 and settled in Woodstock. They worked and played side-by-side most of their married life until Dad succumbed to complications of influenza in 2005. Mumma continued to travel some but was content to enjoy her home with family and friends. She moved to The Carleton Manor Nursing Home in October 2022 where she received exemplary care. In addition to the Manor staff, our family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care provided by the staff in the ER and 4NE wing of the DECH.

Joyce was also predeceased by her parents, her 2 siblings, Evelyn Durling and Rowena Grant, and many in-laws.

A celebration of life and interment of both Orlie and Joyce is planned and will be announced at a later date. We miss them dearly but have many fond memories to sustain us.

If so desired, donations can be made to Saint James United Church of Canada
