Sheri Fance Obituary

Sheri Armstrong Fance passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, just after turning 74. She was born Aug. 18, 1950, in Alliance, Ohio.

Sheri grew up one of four kids on a farm in Alliance, Ohio. The second-oldest, she went to Alliance High School and eventually studied at Malone College and Youngstown University. Along the way she grew into a woman who knew what she wanted and liked to talk straight. And you could always count on her to be there for you.

In 1990, she moved to Greenville, S.C. She enjoyed family gatherings, going to the beach, sunrises, eating Heggy’s butter-fries, getting ice cream, listening to music (including Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton), and reading.

She is survived by her daughters Nikki Smart (Shah) and Tiffany Fahr (David); her children through marriage Karrie Varagliotti, Molly Hartong, Erin MacDonald (Fance) and Shannon Gorgon (Fance); grandchildren Austin Fahr (Sofia), Brody Fahr, Jordin Smart, Zack Fahr and Emily Fahr, and grandchildren by marriage Nick and Cassidy Varagliotti, Carter and Aiden Hartong, Jackson and Madelyn MacDonald, Dylan and Lily Gorgon; and her brother, Stephen Lynn Armstrong.

Sheri was preceded in death by her husband Bryan Fance, parents Gladys (Rebecca) Armstrong and Stephen Armstrong, and sisters Karon Beltz and Cindy Gorfido.

A small, private ceremony will accompany her burial at Highland Memorial Park in Columbiana County.
