Marlene Frances Jones (née Mullen), 88, of Millville, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024.
Marlene was born on November 24, 1935, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to the late Leon and Edith Mullen.
Marlene graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1954. She worked at Morton’s Jewelry Store when she was young, then in the registration department of Bridgeton Hospital before working as an administrative assistant at Leone Industries for over 35 years before retiring.
Marlene married her late husband, Loren Stacy Jones, on April 25, 1970, and they spent 35 wonderful years together. She was a devoted mother to three children, Kathy, David, and Ronald.
Marlene was an active member of West Side United Methodist Church in Millville. She enjoyed spending weekends camping with Loren and their dogs.
Marlene is survived by her two sons, David and Ronald; her grandchildren, Stacy, Nicole, Ryan, Sean, and Steven; her great-grandchild, Rocco; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Loren; her daughter, Kathy; her siblings, Leon "Chubby," Eddie, Edith "Billy," Adelaide "Addie," Nancy, and Judy; and one grandson, Tony.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marlene's memory to the South Jersey Regional Animal Center (sjras.org). Memories of Marlene and condolences to her family may be shared on the tribute wall.
