Obituary for
Arthur William Johnson
Arthur William Johnson was born in Greenville, Yarmouth County, October 19, 1943. He passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Hospital August 30, 2024 with his wife by his side. Art was an avid biker who loved his motorcycle to distraction. All of his spare time was spent polishing the chrome on it to a mirror finish. He and his biker buddies were dubbed the Pharmasave Angels because they would always park their machines in front of the store. It is not known if they were holding the building up or the building was holding them up.
His love of his Goldwing, the Cadillac of bikes he would say, was as great as his dislike of pizza and rappi pie. At night you always knew when he was going past your house because of the loud music and the lights on his bike that lit it up like a Christmas tree. His friends would come to him for help with problems with their motorcycles because if anyone knew what the problem could be, it would be Art. If his sister, Janet wanted to buy a vehicle, she sought his advice before buying it.
Art was pre-deceased by his parents: Katherine (nee Wesley) Johnson and Jacob Johnson; brothers: Walter, Sydney, Benjamin, Terry; sisters: Jenny Boudreau and Frances Fenton. He is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Sharon (nee Robart) and his son, Darrell; sisters: Arvella Johnson (Miss Belle), Janet Champdoizeau (Roger), Lou (Judy Doucette), Phillip (Roseann Burgess), Malcolm (Linda Saulnier).
He was loved by those few who knew him so well and he will be missed.
There will be no funeral as per his request. Donations in his name can be made to a charity of your choice. Grave side committal to be announced at a later date.
Rest in Peace, Art.
