Lois Briggs Obituary

Lois Briggs, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, age 88, passed away on August 30, 2024, at home surrounded by her family in hospice care. She was born on August 7, 1936, in Clinton, Indiana, to Louis and Edna (Wallace) Turchi. After she graduated from high school, she married Charles Briggs and they began a family. Lois was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed being a mother more than anything. Lois was widowed later in life and her family meant everything to her. She worked in a factory as a line worker for a few years but her most favorite career was motherhood; and later being a grandmother. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, was an avid reader and adored being with her family. Lois put others first and it showed in how she lived. She loved animals as well, especially her dog, Suki. She will be truly missed.

Lois is survived by her children, Karen (Michael) Nolan of Ypsilanti, MI, Jonathon (Kathy) Briggs of Tecumseh, MI, and Debbie (Ron) Moll of Port Huron, MI, her siblings, Sue and Mary, her sisters-in-law, Bessie Turchi, Nellie and Heddy Briggs, her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michelle, Matthew, Laura, Alexander, and Meghan, as well as several great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors, and her beloved dog, Suki.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Briggs, and her brother Lawrence Turchi.

According to her wishes, dignified cremation rites have been accorded with the David C. Brown Funeral Home, 460 E. Huron River Drive, Belleville, Michigan.

Please keep Lois and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this sad time.
