Janet Eileen Smith (nee Horn), 80, of Glasgow, KY went to be with her Lord, her baby daughter, and other loved ones on August 17 after a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Janet was born on May 28, 1944, in Oil City. She was the daughter of the late John Wade and Hazel Delong Horn. She was a graduate of Oil City High School and worked for several years in the Oil City and Titusville areas. She was a talented artist and enjoyed floral arranging, crocheting, ceramics, and porcelain painting. She also loved to fish.
Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 21 years, Jerry Smith, his daughter Stacey White and husband Kevin and daughter Alyssa, St. Louis, MO; his son, Edward and wife Mary Beth and two daughters Christina May, Gainesville, FL, and Trinity Savage and daughters, Eads, TN.
In addition, she is survived by her sister, Sandra Haas and companion Edward McManus, Pittsburgh; her brother, Calvin Wade Horn and wife Rita of Oil City, three nieces, Rebecca Foley, Erie, Shelly Walters and husband David, Oil City, and Ruby Crow and husband Matthew, Oil City; four grandnephews Jason Foley, Erie; Zachary and Timothy Walters, Oil City, and Matthew Fultz, Oil City.
Visitation will be held at the Morrison Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7, from 10 to noon, followed by a memorial service in Janet’s honor by Pastor Jacob Coon, Grace Baptist Church, Seneca.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or a charity of one’s choice in lieu of flowers.
