Bradford L. McMillion, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024 due to natural causes.

He was born in 1932 in Greenbrier Co. West Virginia to Clark and Eva (Tharpe) McMillion; the youngest of five siblings.

Brad married Danny Lou (Perham) in 1955 and together they had their two boys. Brad devoted his life to serving others. He is a decorated

veteran from his time in the armed services where he served in an administrative role during the Korean Conflict. He provided for both his and Danny’s families. He served his church, Rainelle

United Methodist, as a faithful Sunday school teacher for many decades. He worked for Meadow River Lumber Company, Westmore Coal Company, and Combustion Engineering which became ABB where he retired in 1994. After retirement, he led a life uninterrupted by technology, where he

was as self-sufficient as possible even cutting all his own firewood for heat. He was always willing to provide a helping hand or an ear to listen. Brad enjoyed spending time on his beloved farm among the trees and peace of the mountain. He loved searching for important historical

objects and found many historical items, including a civil war era grave.

Brad is predeceased in death by his wife Danny, his parents Clark and Eva (Tharpe) McMillion; and his siblings: Wilma (John) Hancock, Bernice (Jay) Fowler, Owen (Alma) McMillion, and Howard McMillion.

He is survived by his sons: Brent (Angie) and Patrick (Carolyn); his grandchildren: Trenton (Mary Rose) and Rachel (Alex) McElroy; and his three great grandchildren: Claira, Michael and Emmett McElroy. As well as his much beloved nieces and nephews, in-laws, and neighbors. All

of these he loved and touched deeply. Please join us in celebrating his life on Friday September 6, 2024; wake will be at 10:00AM with funeral services at 11AM at Smathers Funeral Chapel
