Lois Jane LaWarre, 93 of Findlay, died the evening of Friday, August 30, 2024 surrounded by love and prayer at The Heritage Nursing Home. She was born on February 15, 1931 in Bluffton, Ohio to the late Horace Cliffton and Laoma Gail (Oberly) Wilson.

Lois was married to H. Richard LaWarre on March 14, 1959.  Richard preceded her in death on May 30, 2010.  Lois is survived by her children, Todd LaWarre of Cocoa Beach; Jacqueline LaWarre (Greg Chiodo) of Pittsburgh; Mark (Maria) LaWarre of Findlay; Cheryl LaWarre (Quint Fawbush) of Cincinnati; Lisa Daughtery (Rick) of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters; Carolyn Chavanne, of Columbus and Diane Craver, of Cincinnati. Lois was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Carpenter and a brother, David Wilson. And many loving relationships with nieces and nephews. 

Lois worked at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company for 10 years before starting a family.   As she started her family her nurturing nature was evident and easily seen with her natural caregiving.  Lois valued hard work and led by example.  She was steadfast in the importance her children all attending Sunday church services.  

Special memories about Lois are;

Her ability to be easily distracted while making meals.  Many overcooked and dried out meals manifested a family that today thoroughly enjoy burnt edged foods and meats.  

Her ridiculous tendency to be a light sleeper that even one creak would lead her bolting up in bed, which made it difficult to sneak in after curfew.  With a later realization of it being out of love and concern. 

Her severe punishment style when her children misbehaved was her saying ‘ I’m telling your DAD when he gets home!’  

Her joy, love and attention she enjoyed with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  The support she gave them in attending games, giving rides, and celebrating many of their achievements and successes.  Making road trips to spend time with the ones at a distance. 

The love she had for fashion and always dressing well and keeping up on trends and styles.  

Lois always enjoyed many special relationships with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Lois had a special relationship with her daughter-in-law Maria who was devoted to her caregiving and friendship  throughout their relationship.   In addition, Lois enjoyed a close bond with her niece Shari (Schoonover) whom she relied on for her positive outlook and companionship. 

The family is grateful to The Heritage and Hospice Care whom provided a loving, caring, nurturing and comfortable environment in Moms recent years and then her final days. 

She attended Powell Memorial Church throughout her life. She was active in Bridge and Euchre card clubs with her friends. In her spare time, Lois enjoyed golfing, gardening, the outdoors, and watching her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cleveland “Indians” & Cleveland Cavaliers.

A private family funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, 500 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840. Burial will follow in Benton Ridge Cemetery.
