Michael John Jamula, aged 77, passed away surrounded by his family on August 30, 2024.
Born on November 6, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, Michael was the beloved son of Michael and Sally Jamula. A proud graduate of St. Andrew High School in Detroit, where he excelled in sports, particularly baseball, football, and basketball. Following high school, Michael served in the United States Army in Germany. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University.
During his high school years, he met the love of his life, Joyce Zwiernikowski. They married at St. Lawrence Catholic Church on April 29, 1967. Michael dedicated 37 years of his life to Chrysler Automotive, retiring in 2006.
A devoted family man, he was a pillar of support and guidance to his children Robert, Lisa, and Wendy. His true joy came from being an adored grandfather to his eight cherished grandchildren.
Michael devoted considerable time to coaching baseball and basketball, leaving a lasting impression on many young individuals. He was an active member of St. Isidore’s music ministry. He loved golfing with his 'S.B.W.' (Sure Beats Working) friends, organizing poker nights and trips to the casino.
Michael's legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will forever be cherished by all those whose lives he touched.
Beloved husband of Joyce Jamula; loving father of Robert (Jennifer) Jamula, Lisa (Todd) Maki, and Wendy (Robert) Morin; proud grandfather of Alexandria, Sophia, Bryant, Lydia, Blase, Trent, Keira, and Morgan; dear brother of Lorraine (the late Gerald) McFee, and Beverly (Robert) Sudek.
Michael was preceded in passing by his parents Michael and Sally Jamula and his sister Justine (Gerald) Gapczynski.
Visitation to take place on Friday, September 6 from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a scripture service and memory sharing at 6:30 PM.
Funeral mass to be held on Saturday, September 7 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Macomb. Instate, or gathering time, 10:30 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. The family invites guests to the funeral luncheon directly after mass which will be held at the Italian Cultural Center (43843 Romeo Plank Rd, Clinton Township, MI 48038).
Burial to take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on Monday, September 9 at 10:00 AM.
