Angela P. Radeschi Obituary

Angelina “Angela” (LoPresti) Radeschi, age 98, of Danbury passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Angela was born November 4, 1925 in New York City, daughter of the late Pasquale and Rosaria “Sarah” (Scrofani) LoPresti, and was raised in Brooklyn, NY, and Georgetown, CT. After marriage, she moved to Danbury and raised her two sons. She retired after working as the Deli Supervisor at Pathmark in Danbury for more than 25 years and was a proud member of the Local 371 United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Angela loved music and playing the piano. A Christmas didn’t go by without setting fingers to the keys to play and sing songs like Silver Bells and Joy to the World. She treasured spending time with children and enjoyed singing silly songs with them, a tradition that is shared throughout the family. She had a gift of engaging with little ones and making them laugh.

She was an outstanding traditional Italian cook and baker. Her cookies and cakes were big hits on holidays and at events. She always brought a beautiful display of treats.

Angela also enjoyed reading, documenting historical events, card games, completing daily crossword puzzles, and watching Jeopardy to keep her mind sharp.

Her home was home to all and the memories of visiting with family, greeting generations of neighbors on Halloween, and tracking through the fields at the end of the cul-de-sac are shared with all who gathered there with her.

Above all, the love for her family and her complete selflessness will be most remembered.

Angela is survived by her grandchildren Aimee M. Radeschi, L. Christopher Radeschi, Jr., Keith Radeschi, and Corrie Menzer, her great-grandchildren Angelina Radeschi and Nico Radeschi, daughters-in-law, Bonnie Nezvesky and Linda Fusco as well as her beloved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, step-granddaughter, and step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Lloyd C. Radeschi, Sr. and Douglas P. Radeschi, sisters Mary Nelson and Grace “Dolly” Panetta, brother Philip LoPresti and niece Mona Lisa Russo.

Angela’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, from 9 to 10 a.m. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ridgefield.
