Dudley Ray Coleman, 96, passed away surrounded by his family Friday, August 30, 2024, in Ackerly, Texas. He was born on December 28, 1927, to VJ and Mary Louise Coleman in Ackerly, TX.
Dudley was a Life Member of Safari Club International, as well as the National Rifle Association. Dudley enjoyed spending his time traveling the world with his family and participating in many hunting trips, especially those to Africa. He was a lifetime West Texas Rancher and Oil man and had also worked in Colorado and New Mexico.
He is loved and missed by his daughter: Joanne Coleman and husband Mike Welling; son Michael Coleman and wife Sharon and two granddaughters: Kimberly Coleman and McKenzie Coleman and numerous longtime employees which were like family to him.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Zula Iris Coleman; and parents, VJ and Mary Louise (Haney) Coleman.
He will be available for viewing Tuesday, September 3, 2024, between the hours of 8:00 a.m and 9:00 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Big Spring. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held in the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnels to Towers or charities of one’s choice.
