Michael James Schuetter, age 77, passed away on Friday August 30, 2024. He was born on February 24, 1947 to Libby Schuetter. Mike was an Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and a retiree from General Electric. He married the love of his life, Sharon, on October 3, 1969.
Mike bled red and loved his UofL Cardinals, always coaching them from the stands. He loved to golf, primarily at Cherokee, where he had 3 holes in one. Mike and Sharon also loved to frequent the casinos – where they would win some and lose some.
Mike coached at St. Stephen Martyr and Germantown for many years. Always treating his players like his own kids.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother Danny Schuetter and granddaughter Chelsea Stinnett
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters Shelley Sturgeon (Tommy) and Kristy Stinnett (Davie); grandkids Derek and Renee Sturgeon, Corey (Hannah) and Nick (Rachel) Stinnett; great grands Stella and Saraya and Julius, Kylie, Lillian, Camila, and Phil; and tons of extended family and friends.
Mike was one of a kind and will be missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be held for Mike from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Bosse Funeral home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues. To celebrate and honor him, please wear red for UofL or green, his favorite color.
