Shirley R. Martin, 82, of Logansport, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, in White Oaks Healthcare of Monticello.
Born September 28, 1941, in Highland, IN, she was the daughter of the late William Orman and Bernice Maxine (Kesler) Eisert.
On September 26, 1959, in Burnettsville, IN, she was married to Larry Gene Martin. The couple met at Ideal Beach, and it was love at first sight. He preceded her in death June 9, 2013
Shirley was retired from Martin's Supermarket where she had worked as the seafood manager.
Baptized at the Buffalo Christian Church, Shirley's faith kept her strong and shaped her life as a wonderful wife, mother and grandma. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by one daughter, Tina (Mike) Hunt, of Buffalo; one son-in-law, Jeff Swanson; one brother, Bernie (Jaynie) Eisert, Buffalo; three sisters-in-law, Prudence Martin. Sally Martin, and Ruby Garbison; eight grandchildren, Mick (Carlene) Hunt, of Buffalo, and Corey (Raquel Reynolds) Hunt, of Brookston, Rodney Swanson, of Twelve Mile, David Swanson, of Twelve Mile, Samantha Swanson of Rochester, Josh Harrison of Kokomo, Jacob (Ginger) Harrison, of Logansport, and Jason (Cam) Harrison, of Twelve Mile; nine great grandchildren, Allison(Michael), Callie, CJ, Ella, Joslin, Payten, Mallorie, Baylee,Addison, Brooke, Joshua, Piper, Willow, Rodney Jr. and Owen.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rodney Gene Martin; of Monticello, two daughters, Becky Swanson and Trudie (Jack) Harrison; and brother, James Eisert.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7th, at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Teri White officiating.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo, IN.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7p.m. on Friday, Sept.6th, in the funeral chapel.
