Ruth Eddy Lewis, 78, of Clarksburg, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at River Oaks Nursing Home in Clarksburg. She was born July 30, 1946, in Wyatt, a daughter of the late Ivan Dale and Alta Mae Yost Eddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Lewis, who died on March 8, 2008.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Howard Duane Gump of Quiet Dell; and Ronald Gump and his companion Lisa Ann Casto of Clarksburg; her daughter, Paula K. Long and her husband Steve of Arnettsville; four-grandchildren, Lisa Allen and her husband Bill of Lost Creek; Robbie Hughes of Morgantown; Kayla Crawford and her husband Adam of Morgantown; and Courtney Long of Morgantown; her great-grandchildren, Camden; Andrew; Isabella Marie; Alliyah; Pasley; Brynlee; Zeke; and Everleigh; as well as her brother, Glenn Eddy and his wife Phyllis of Louisville, KY; her sisters, Thelma Common of Johnson City, TN; and Louise Jones of Core; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Mike Gump of Shinnston; and her sister, Rozellia Ellen Marts.
Ruth enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises. She also liked listening to live music and crocheting. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family.
Friends will be received at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Thursday, September 5th from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm .
