We bid farewell to Shirley McIntosh, age 96, who left us on August 30th,2024, after a long and beautifully lived life. Full of love, laughter, resilience, and positivity, she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Shirley will be remembered for the love that she had for her family and her friends and for the positivity she always had in life. Shirley was loved deeply by so many people and she made many lasting memories along the way.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family more than anything and was able to spend the best part of her years along their side. She was blessed to have grandchildren and great- grandchildren and her legacy will live on in all of their lives.
Shirley spent the last years of her life as a resident of Valley Hi Nursing home in Woodstock, IL. While there, she found a family in addition to her own that loved her and she loved them. She was blessed to have spent the last years of her life surrounded by so many wonderful human beings.
Shirley is Survived by her Children; Richard, Randy, Russell, Karen, Roger& Pam Lewis, her grandchildren; Lindsey, Ashley, Michelle, Mariah, Myles, Martin and her 8 great- grandchildren.
Shirley’s faith in Jesus and the promise of a heaven gave her peace in the end knowing that she would be united with her family and friends that were awaiting her arrival.
Shirley was preceded in death by; Scott, Connie and Mona Lewis; her three sisters and brother, and the many others before.
To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a funeral service will be held in her honor at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Services in Schaumburg, IL (330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg, IL 6019). There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, September 4th from 9-12pm, followed by a burial at Elmwood Cemetery and Mausoleum in River Grove, IL (2905 North Thatcher Road, River Grove, IL, 60171).
