It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of John Dale Greathouse Jr. of Independence, West Virginia on August 30, 2024 at the age of 76 with his wife by his side.

John was born in Hundred, West Virginia on August 10, 1948 to his father and mother, John Dale Greathouse Sr, and Nora Nadine (Jones) Greathouse. He moved to Independence, West Virginia with his wife in 1995, and lived there for 30 years. He retired from GM after working for more than 30 years. He went on to be a bus driver for Preston County Schools, Newburgh Headstart, and WVU. His hobbies included hunting, camping and taxidermy. One of his greatest joys was spending time in the mountains.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wonderful wife Rosetta, their children Steven, Adam, Melissa, Denise, Jeannette, Lisa (Mike), Davey and Ramona (Dave), as well as his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, his siblings, Mike, Bev, Mary, Ralph, Dave and his children Gary and Tina.

Services for John will be at 7PM Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
