Mr. Gary E. Waters, age 75, of the Pendleton Springs Community, died Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, following an extended illness.  He was a native of Emanuel County and lived in Pendleton Springs all of his life.  He was a 1967 graduate of Swainsboro High School and later a graduate of Swainsboro Tech.  He and his wife were owners and together operated Captain’s Corner Restaurant in Vidalia for thirty years.  He attended Pendleton Creek Community Church, and he enjoyed farming, fishing and deer hunting.  He is preceded in death by a son, Jerry Waters; parents, Eugene M. Waters and Geneva Williford Waters; and a sister, Linda Waters McDonald. 

His family includes his wife of fifty-three years, Gail McDaniel Waters of Pendleton Springs; one son, Guy Waters and wife Susan of Oak Park; two nieces, Amanda McDonald Williamson and Monty of Montgomery County, and Alisa McDonald of Toombs County; one nephew, Blake McDonald of Augusta; sister-in-law, Glenda McDaniel McDonald and husband Wade of Vidalia; and his cat “Kit Kit”.

The funeral service will be Wednesday morning, September 4th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Roberson and Kenny Edge officiating.  Burial will follow at Waters Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 until just prior to the service.
