Lucy G. Wagner, 99, of Cresaptown, died Friday, August 30, 2024, at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born February 7, 1925, in Cresaptown, she was the daughter of the late James Henry Shepherd and Pansy Pearl (Robison) Shepherd.

She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Edward Wagner, in 2008; an infant daughter, Sandra Stark; a son, Larry Stark; daughter-in-law, Pauline Stark; grandson, Cpl. Gene Stark; siblings, Grace Shepherd, Leroy Shepherd, Brenda Shepherd, Helen Skelley, James H. Shepherd, Jr., Robert L. Shepherd, and Paul Shepherd.

Mrs. Wagner was a 1942 graduate of Allegany High School.

She had done office work and retail sales. Her last place of employment was at Sears.

Mrs. Wagner had attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Ronald Stark; daughter-in-law Rose Stark; sister, Carol VanMeter; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on

Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM and Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11:00 AM-noon.

The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at noon with Pastor Bruce McBride, officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
