Hilda Harper Kelly, affectionately called Granny, died August 30, 2024, at 98 years of age, surrounded by her three daughters.
She was born in Hamilton, Alabama July 29, 1926.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Kelly, her parents, Ben and Julie Harper, and her 9 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters Kathy Willis (Jerry), Carol Bush (John), and Mary Ann Barrett (Wink). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lee (Misty) and Kelly (Kristina) Macon, Clayton (Sarah) and Alex (Turner) Fain, and Win Barrett and great grandchildren, Caroline and Mary Katherine Macon, Harper, Joseph, Jacob, and Joshua Macon, Fitz, Sully, and Mateo Fain, and Daniel and Joshua Fain.
Hilda was a giver and was devoted to her family. She loved her church and was always active in a variety of activities. She loved her community and always put others' needs above her own. She is leaving behind a legacy of love to so many.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The First Methodist Church of Wetumpka.
We wish to thank the staff at Wetumpka Health and Rehab, and Ivy Creek for the genuine love and kindness shown to her in her final days.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 3, at Gassett Funeral Home at 10:00 o'clock. The service will follow at 11:00 o'clock in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Wetumpka City Cemetery.
